Why the hell do people fill the cup with ice first? The soda comes out of the machine ice-cold already. The ice just takes up valuable space, leaving you with less to drink.

I'm not drinking it immediately, and the syrup to water balance is adjusted with the presumption that the average non-retarded consumer (not OP) is putting ice in their drink.

The original implication was that ice both keeps the drink cool and the machines are designed with that in mind. The retard implied that you could water it down yourself using the plain carbonated water option, but that's only half the problem and in no way keeps the drink any cooler.

absolutely not, I'd describe drink temperature out of the machine as "cold-ish" but definitely not "ice cold"

Nope. OP's presumption is the drink is already ice-cold, so ice only dilutes it which is bad.
Then >>17063991 challenges the idea that dilution is something bad; ice dilutes too sweet drink to the right proportions; doesn't touch the matter of temperature.
Then >>17064010 rightfully notices carbonated water is better at diluting the drink than ice.

Presumably the water coming from the same machine will be just as ice-cold as the drink.

Then we have >>17064019 with the BS "proofreading" comment and more back-and-forth, ice making the already cold drink any cooler never coming into the picture

Then you come with "The original implication was that ice both keeps the drink cool..." which was never the original implication, in any of the referenced posts. And you cuss "speedreading twats" you speedreading twat.
