What's your opinion on "full" breakfasts?

>> No.17053265

this would be great if the tomatoes and mushrooms were replaced by french toast and pancakes, the eggs were scrambled, and it had the usual hash browns. why do british eat morning beans separate from the toast, but eat beans on toast any other time of the day?

Full breakfast at an “Irish pub” in the US.
Honestly can’t complain. It’s not easy in Burgertopia to find a place that serves black pudding, UK style sausage, and actual rasher bacon

LOVE the full English breakfast!

Hey Ameribro, I love me some hashbrowns too, but the fried bread is a good substitute.
And it’s been my experience that the grilled mushrooms and tomatoes (which I admittedly thought seemed strange before trying it) actually offer a wonderful light contrast to all of the fried proteins/carbs.

I don't like, that's way too much for me in the morning, it'll just make me sleepy when I'm sitting around writing and solving problems.

I already do some of that inbetween being awake and sleeping, sometimes that's the best time to think things through. When its quiet.

I think just about everywhere that serves a full english will let you have scrambled eggs, if it's a brunch place they will probably do poached as well. Personally I wouldn't remove tomatoes under any circumstance since it's the only acidic component in a very greasy meal.
As for the toast personally I eat it with a fork and knife alongside everything else so I can get a bite of everything, or use one slice to mop up the egg yolk bean sauce tomato juice bacon grease mixture at the end if I'm not in polite company. Also I sometimes eat beans on toast for breakfast, much more often than anything close to a full english.

>sometimes eat beans on toast for breakfast
thank you for admitting it. I was wondering why the beans are served separate from the toast in the breakfast. I imagine many people see the toast, the packets of butter, and beans and then assemble their beans on toast.

of course. tomatoes vs delicious french toast with powdered sugar and syrup. There should be no question about which is better.

I usually go for porridge or just a piece of fruit with some yoghurt or something. Occasionally toast topped with jam, marmalade or cheese if I fancy something savoury. Used to eat cereal more when I was younger but not so much anymore

Mushrooms, beans, and tomatoes do not resemble vegetables.

>> No.17055671

"Vegetable" is a culinary term, not a scientific one. So while yes tomatoes are fruits and mushrooms are fungi, that does not exclude them from being vegetables in the context of cooking
