You're ignoring that part where I mentioned a fuckin sanitizer wash that occurs in any legal food production plant.
There's also mandatory FDA representatives present every day of operation who actively watch for contaminants prior to the chilling and freezing process. We had 4 people watching our chickens go by and out of 8-10k a day we had a max of 5 get pulled and thrown away for either excessive bruising or feather/fecal. This is not counting the 100-200 which have already been weeded out prior to final inspection.

just to clarify for you, the reason why other anons are disagreeing with you is because your sense of hygiene makes you feel uncomfortable at the thought of eating other people's cooties, while they are only concerned about risk from actual pathogens.

Rinsing meat and vegetables certainly will remove a greater amount of those things, but isn't particularly effective (and may be counterproductive) at removing pathogens. Conflating the two is how you seem to be having a factual argument when really your only disagreement is over personal values.

Washing your meat IS a problem though when it means you have to then wash and sanitize your entire sink because you can't into science. This is why ground meat is recommender to be cooked to 165 ( which is retarded with good beef).
The bacteria/pathogens exist on the outside. Cooking by searing destroys them. Rinsing it in your sink is spreading the possibility to other surfaces. Unless you're buying the 50% off bargain section meat there is little to no risk in slicing open that package and dropping it in a pan after seasoning.

You understand my argument but it is frustrating that some people seem to lack basic reading comprehension. It’s not the pathogens I’m worried about as long as you cook and prepare properly. It’s the human bodily fluids I prefer to consume less of that, even if sterile, is still disgusting. I would not want to consume someone else’s spit regardless if it were sterile or not. I can’t eliminate all human contaminates in my groceries but I can reduce it with rinsing. If others are okay with that’s fine, I’m just throwing down my two cents on why I rinse down my groceries.

If you are white, you likely have the virtue, knowledge, and confidence to cook the meat as-is and call the other people retarded for dirtying up their counter tops. It really is this simple.

The birth of second and third generation immigrants in white countries has finally done away with mysticism; we can finally say with confidence that minorities are small minded rather than special, or that they're "seeing something we don't see." The fact that non-whites born in white countries continue these practices is proof of this. The fact that every nu-ethnic talks about this "model minority" nonsense is further proof. I'm most a of the time on the vegetarian keto diet.
I eat meat like every month or 2, but I only eat meat from japan and salmon for alaska anything else is poison.
I don't have to wash anything.
I would like to kill an animal and then eat it but that is not an option where i live but i have money so np.
Only niggers wash their meat like chicken

I use to install flooring for industrial kitchens and saw most of the abattoirs on east coast Aus in action. They were by far the cleanest of any commercial food production I saw, and I saw them all. Fact is all the large scale food production is far more hygienic and sterile than your average restaurant kitchen, and most home kitchens.

You fell for the meme. People don't wash meat unless to give it a quick rinsy-poo if it fell on the floor or something. It's raccoons that wash their meat (and veggies, and cotton candy).

My parents are immigrants from the Dominican Republic and to this day they insist on washing meat before cooking. Even after I showed them what the FDA says about washing meat and how it does nothing to kill bacteria that properly cooking won’t. If anything washing chicken risks splashing salmonella water on counter tops.

I grew up thinking it was normal and I get kinda mad when they won’t listen to reason despite the whole internet saying otherwise. They’re old, uneducated, and stuck in their ways. I also learn they overcook every meat pretty much because they’re scared of getting sick. They also wash their red meat with lemon along with water for some reason. Anyone’s else parents so this?

You typically use some kind of detergent to wash dishes, hope you're not doing the same for meat. If you're submerging the meat it should be fine as long as you thoroughly clean the sink, however if you're rinsing it with anything more than a light trickle then water particles carrying bacteria can splash off the meat and travel pretty far. I live in a third world country and we get the chicken "relatively clean" as in it still has small and tiny feathers on the wings and back and still has the organs inside. I pass it over a flame to remove the tiny feathers, then remove the crop that still in the neck, the respiratory pipe thing and remove the giblets. you then get a mix or blood and whatever was in the crop forming a thick liquid inside, so I clean it in a small basin with water and a bit of vinegar, let it there before draining. The sink and basin are then cleaned with water and bleach.

My family are more unreasonable and mentally ill than I am, because a sane person would fucking shut up and listen to me instead of becoming an abusive monster whenever you say the wrong thing to them, replacing my family member with a rabid bitch for a day or so. Almost makes me understand all these "i hate women" people on here. Almost. I guess you're right about it being inconsequential, but that's until something bad does come of it if it ever does, then it's "lol why would you wash your chicken you brought this on yourself lmao". Nothing I can do but passively watch things happen, and taking action is punished by almost everything. That's life. And you say "what sort of retard gets triggered this hard by something this inconsequential" without looking at the rest of this thread.

The question is, if you wash the chicken low in the sink so drops don't go outside it, and if it doesn't kill or cause serious illness at a rate that merits concern over it, in addition to the sink and the surroundings being cleaned up with dish soap and water after chicken is washed there... does it still warrant concern?

At what point does concern for the health of others become obsession and being controlling/imposing of others over it?
