Panettone is difficult to make and requires a lot of rest and processes, also the more expensive it is the more expensive the ingredients are such as bourbon vanilla rather than vanilla aroma extract, orange paste and freshly made candied fruit made by the pastry shop rather than being bought in bulk. The same goes for raisins.
Lastly, artisanal panettone is made in small batches so it’s ready to eat for Christmas with a shelf life of 2 months while store bought panettone made for the great distribution is made months in advance and lasts a lot more.

good luck with that. It's a 60h project that's really hard to do well if you don't have a laboratory and a lot of experience.
Unless you are very motivated it's honestly not worth it. If you are lucky you'll end up with a panettone that's only slightly better than the store bought one (because it's more fresh and supposedly used better ingredients) but will cost you twice and a lot of time.

Make stollen instead, while it's arguably not as a good as panettone it's not hard as panettone to make
