What does american whole pickles taste like?

Where im from pickles are almost always sweet. There are whole pickles in yars but they are very strong and vinagry in taste and not pleasant. There are something called sandwish pickles that are sliced and taste watery with a slight under tone of vinager and salt. Is that how they taste?

>> No.17025050

All three
Dills are sour
sweet pickles are sweet
bread and butter pickles are in between.

>> No.17025056

Here in the US, sweet pickles are usually labeled as the "bread and butter" variety. Regular pickles here are mostly sour and a little savory. Half sour pickles are a bit watery and the vinegar is less present, so that might be what you're referring to

"pickles" in the US are sour, and usually flavored with garlic, dill, juniper, black pepper and turmeric in a water/vinegar/salt brine. Bread and butter and sweet pickles are secondary but popular, and also a good margin sweeter than slav pickles.

Your neighbour from the north here. I can say that at least, we don't. Not a fan of them, they've got a weird coriandery-cinnamony taste to them I don't really like. My husband from Chicago loves them, though.

Since we're talking about pickles I guess I'll ask for a recommendation. I've been eating pic related for a while and I love them but the fucking packaging is horrible. Every time you open it (which is unnecessarily difficult), it pisses pickle juice all over the place. And the spicy ones just taste exactly like the mild ones which is also retarded. Anyone know a similar brand with a strong garlic taste and excellent crunch like these?

With a pretty neutral flavor profile depending on the variety, yeah?
You gonna tell me chutneys can only be one or the other too?

American culture is centered around pickles. They have holidays for pickles. They killed hundreds of thousands of white men to get their pickles. They listen to pickle music. They elect a pickle eater as their president. They dress and act like pickles (Pickle Rick). They draw the entirety of their modern culture from pickles. They post sassy gifs about pickles. They watch sportsball while eating pickles. Their biggest event of the year involves throwing parties in honor of eating pickles while watching sports. They use pickles in their slang like "I'm in a real pickle" and "that really tickles my pickle". When you say "Dill" they're not thinking of the herb. They're thinking of the pickle. Their cities are completely oversaturated with pickles. They worship their police force disproportionately filled with pickle eaters and their global police force of soldiers filled with pickle eaters. Their men sit around eating pickles while their women sit around watching pickle cooking shows. They worship pickles like Vlasic and Clausen and the discontinued Ma Brown Pickles while attacking cuisines that actually fed their country before pickles took over. Their movies are filled with pickles and their music charts are topped by songs about pickles. They send pickles to the Olympics and celebrate when the pickles are eaten by the winners because those pickles are true red blooded american pickles. They watch pickle porn to a point where "pickle" does not make them think of the original definition, meaning spiced sauce served with meat or fowl, but about vinegar soaked cucumbers instead. They will tell you how much they hate pickles and how their pickle obsession is stale joke and they are just pretending to love pickles but the evidence speaks for itself in that America has always been and will be a nation of pickle loving pickle eaters.
