Cut from fin to gill, or tail to face. Run blade along back-bone. When fillet is removed, when you go to remove the skin stay about 1/4 inch off the skin itself. That black line contains an artery, and if you sever it taints the flesh.
Normally no I don't eat this fish, however from time to time if you cut it how I say a bass-burger goes down real nice.

Like any other fish. Gut, clean, cook. God I wish I could gas hundreds of millions of Americans because they have these superstitions about certain fish species.

Maybe in the backwater, sister-fucking, Arkansas swamps where you go to get butt-raeped, but in the patrician State of Minnesota, the waters are cold and the bass are fucking delicious.

Fillet and skin, be sure to remove pin bones. Don't forget to check for the egg sack and don't puncture it during gutting. It's delicious and you cook it the same way as the fillets. Bread with flour, egg, and finely crushed (not powdered!) saltine crackers. Deep-fry.

Bass have pin bones?

>> No.17026115

>>17025944
Yes, but rather than remove them with needle-nose pliers it's easier to make a thin cut to get the bones out as you likely won't use bass the same way you would fish you would tweeze. Bass sushi is suicide.
