it's a Swedish army classic. here's the recipe I used:

1 kg dry yellow peas
3 onions
margarine
thyme
pepper
salt

soak the peas overnight in salted water. strain them and put them in a 10 liter pot. add water and bring to a boil. let simmer for 2-3 hours. add onion around 1 hour in. you can add pork here too if you like. if you don't have pork then add fat. I used margarine. the amount of water to use is a taste thing. I like my pea soup thick

it's on the lowest setting and still spins too fast. another way is to use a microwave plate spinning motor. I have a couple. but then I'd have to actually build something. maybe 3D print a stand, attach a whisk of some sort to the motor..
