Carrot thread! Post your carrot recipes or any carrot related questions.

Also, I've been seriously considering suicide every night for the past week. I've been fantasizing about my girlfriend finding my body and telling my ex-best friend who eroded our relationship away due to narcissism.

My dad used to make buttered carrots every thanksgiving. It was the only thing he made himself and he's the only person I've seen make them. I haven't talked to him in three years because I could never forgive him for something. Actually, I haven't talked to any of my family for that long, either.

Glazed carrots sound weird to me. I'm not sure how you would balance the sweetness of the glaze with the already sweet carrots. Maybe you're supposed to impart heavy roasted flavor into the carrots first; does anyone know?

I’m interested also , when I try they just end up too sweet .

Do you know any good carrot cake recipies? I love carrots. I'm pretty simple. I either eat them raw or roast them or put them in squash soup. But a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is starting to sound better and better every day.

Also considering suicide for just a week is nothing. Wait it out. Ive been considering suicide for 20+ years.

just make a cake and add shredded carrots to what you think is right. taste it, and adjust. if you're worried about not liking it, make a small batch

around here, we put a splash of vanilla in all of our deserts, but somehting warm is nice with carrot cake. like a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon. certainly some allspice and ginger are nice. and, I don't know if you like beets or molasses, but putting a bit of brown sugar in it as oppose to refined sugar cane is nice. and just a little heads up, if you're not too much of a cake maker, you could try mixing the sugar or molases with the butter and egg/s. i've always found that to make it be more moist. it could be in my head though.

Carrots are better when young.
The best part of a carrot is its skin.
Their taste degrades from then on.
Their core is bitter garbage.
You want them young and bio.

Once you know these very simple facts about carrots you don't need any recipes anymore.

You keep the outer layers for raw, fresh, al dente preparations and you keep the cores for soups and stocks.

Use old shitty carrots, like the ones you’ve had in the cellar all winter. It’s going to be a sweet recipe no matter what but it makes more sense with woody carrots

Nutmeg, allspice.
Easy on the clove, maybe leave cinnamon out

I like carrot soup, but only the puréed kind. Never really liked to get a chunk of carrot in a stew.

I've never made a cake in my life, but I make a mean carrot or pumpkin pie. When I say considering, I mean actually considering; I've been suicidal on and off for a long time, but this week has been very tempting in a way that's not melodramatic enough to make my worries go away. I feel like I could do it.

Cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Avoid the cloves unless you plan on adding a shit ton of frosting after.

Interesting. So basically, chop up the outsides for cake and such, and the innards for glazes carrots? Is this part of the reason the jumbo asian carrots go so well in curry, because they're not sweet?

LMAO pathetic, just ruin his life or start doing so well that you can shit all over him at the next social event held by a mutual friend. I had a "friend" fuck me over a while ago and that's what I'm doing. Gonna keep in contact until he's inevitably homeless because that's exactly where he's headed and he's burning every bridge along the way.

for the different phyochemicals that are important for good health. maybe you already got plenty of beta carotene for the day, or the past couple of days, and you need some polyphenols up in your stomach bruh.

I only really use carrots in stews as a kind of bulking thing. Been eating pumpkin stew all weekend.

I fear I’m the narcissist in my relationship. I’m a repressing cross dresser who should probably be alone but I’m too scared to do anything.

The only carrots that I'm presently growing are not high in anthocyanins. My garden's not very varied at the moment. And I'm not really able to reacall any of the names of some good ones presently. I could look up some, and see if it jogs my memory. But mesa sorry for not having any at the ready.

Interesting question. Fresh pickles do exist, no fementation needed, but I don't know about if it's safe for you or your loved ones to reuse that stuff. And if I were you, I wouldn't ask people here about food safety.

I'm not a spiteful person like that. I would rather die than lash out and spend my last shred of humanity exacting revenge on a selfish heap of a person.
>>16914617
Puree them and add butter or cream would be my guess. I would add a fair amount of salt so it doesn't come out too sweet. The restaurants may also be mixing it with sweet potatoes for consistency.
>>16914756
I think orange carrots taste the worst, actually. Yellow and white are more earthy and interesting, and purple are brighter. Red is about as sweet as orange but more flavorful.
I feel like an impostor making a thread about carrots because I don't eat them much, but it just felt right for some reason.
>>16914879
Carrots are pretty low in calories so I wouldn't try to bulk with them.

I seem to only attract these kinds of people, but this guy was about the worst. I helped him for the past decade with his depression, and he turned around and destroyed my relationships with one of my friend groups. Anything huge I did for him was forgotten by him, and anything minuscule he did for me was brought up and used to mock me for eternity. Fucking unreal, honestly. He's not necessarily the reason I want to kill myself, but I would like him to see me dead and learn a lesson.

You don't need to be spiteful to want to watch a human turd crash & burn. Also, regarding what you said to the final guy you linked, these people don't work like that. He'll turn you into a story and make it all about him and get sympathy from other people.

I think there are a lot of valid reasons to self-terminate. Trying to change some faggot isn't one of them.

I wouldn't be doing it to spite him, but my first thoughts about what would happen if I did it do involve him, and I *wish* it would have some sort of effect--but you're probably right.
I started feeling a bit better later today, but I'm still wary and might check into the hospital if I care enough later.
