no, dumbass, life expectency is the AVERAGE time of life. which means that it gets dragged down by child mortality considerably. it was always low before the modern era not because you'd live to 30 and then keel over but because everyone had a large family and a lot of newborns wouldnt make it past their first few years. if you survived that getting to +70 was obviously less likely than today but not impossible or that uncommon

>> No.16912563

You don't need to use any fats for cooking except butter, coconut and olive oils. All polyunsaturated fats oxidize in warm environments and turn rancid within the body, causing metabolic inhibition and chronic disease. An ideal diet contains minimal PUFA or a high ratio of saturated and monounsaturated to polyunsaturated fats.

-The omega3 is the less available plant form
-Both of the polyunsaturateds still oxidize
-During high temperature processing, trans fats are getting created
-All of this means it's inferior to beef/milk fat
-It's "highly processed" in general, which all the NPCs know is bad
-It's probably the most common cooking oil, so it gets the most hate
But yeah. If you want cheap oil, use canola. All the other stuff is even worse.

Cold-pressed Canola oil is indeed really good. Arguably on par or better than Extra virgin olive oil. The issue is that the cold pressed variety is a rare and expensive specialty product and instead almost all Canola oil sold is not cold pressed but rather hot pressed using hexane which destroys the Omega-3 and oxidize the oil. Also cold-pressed Canola oil has a distinct taste which, though not bad, makes it unsuitable when you want a neutral taste oil as a base.
