Is basic shit like groceries, pizza and cigs really that expensive in NYC? I've been hearing that for at least the past decade, and now with this recent inflation I'm even more curious... I'm in a moderately nice, secluded but easy access, non-diverse part of the US and everything is the same as it ever was. $6 pack of smokes, $5 huge bag of bacon, $1.75 per lb for a good cut of steak... And good pizza is like $9.
