Hi /ck/ first timer here, I asked this on /adv/ and told me I can get better answers here, so I´ll copy paste my question

Okay so, i have this girl friend who is underweight at 110 lbs, she wants to gain to at least 120 lbs, and maybe even a bit overweight, but she has an insanely fast metabolism that makes it hard for her to gain some weight, any tips to slow down her metabolism?

Gaining weight is easy. Doing without junk food not so much. Trying to mess with your weight like this a fools errand and I pity the fool.

There are no ways to "slow down your metabolism" that don't involve losing weight.
Just drink a few milkshakes, it's not hard, anyone can pull that off in a week or two.

>TEE was increased on low-carbohydrate diets (135.4 kcal/d; 95% CI: 72.0, 198.7 kcal/d) with low heterogeneity (I2 = 26.4). Expressed per 10% decrease in carbohydrate as %EI, the TEE effects in shorter and longer trials were −14.5 kcal/d and 50.4 kcal/d, respectively.

I heard eating before bed does something bad if you're trying to lose weight, so maybe try tossing down an extra 500-800 calories before sleeping. Maybe a couple hours before, so it doesn't mess with her sleep quality too much.

No its not. And I never said you couldn't starve yourself eating McDonalds and lose weight. The point is there is something in your body that regulates your fat tissue. You can reduce it by starving yourself but there are better methods.

No but low carb can. Best if you develop a relationship with a local butcher and get good quality grass fed meats but that may be out of reach for many economically. Deenz, ground beef eggs from Costco would be the poorfag route

Yes...? It was lowered in the short term but the longer clinical trials showed the less carbs as a percent of diet the more calories you burn at rest. This may help to explain why carbohydrate restricted diets produce greater weight loss relative to calorie restricted diets.
