I think KFC's chicken sandwiches are on par with Popeyes and Chic Fila now. However, when I first tried KFC's new sandwich at the beginning of the year I thought it was pretty mediocre but recently, they've improved quite a bit. I don't know if they've tweaked their recipe or if it just took a while for the employees to get good at making them but my local KFC has noticeably increased the quality of their food recently.

This is also a significant deciding factor for who has the most enjoyable chicken sandwhich experience. At chick fil a. I'm in and out of the drive through in less than 5 minutes. My order is never wrong, and the staff is well coordinated and polite. I have never once had a good experience at a popeyes. These other fast food joints need to be copying the service model not the sandwhiches.

I like the Chick-Fil-A sandwich, but the Popeyes near me won't deliver unless I get a full meal for like $13. So, I've never had the Popeye's sandwich, even though I think they do really good normal or spicy chicken. Not in the US. In the US, the ground meat patty is considered the defining factor of a burger. Thus, fried chicken in a bun is just called a sandwich here while a meat patty wrapped in lettuce gets called a "bunless burger".

In the UK and Australia they seem to view the bun as the defining factor and call any hot sandwich in a bun a burger.
