Nevermind i found a slab on amazon ill try my luck with. Speck looks delicious and if i keep this in a ziploc bag in the fridge it will stay for awhile. Thanks for bringing my attention to this as iv been looking for different meats to try. Got any favorite recipes for speck or you just like to eat as is?

Never tried speck but dried meat slices goes great when fried with eggs.

Or eat it as is, in a sandwich perhaps

Watch out because speck of not top quality tends to be chewy and with kind of a meh flavour, the top stuff melts in your mouth and is fabolous, my favourite is black forest ham
A great crudo di Parma or culatello probably tops it but if you are into smocky flavour it's a must

Yeah i never bought food on amazon and don't really trust it, unless it's particular ingredients
Not even one store where you live has it? It's not some special ham, should be quite easy to get some slices of a standard one to at least try it out before
Amerilard or europoor?

Speck is mostly rather eaten on bread or thrown in stews and soups to add some flavour.
You also have to know that Speck means bacon but also some fatty hams (Schinken in German) are still called Speck. Those ham/bacons are better for eating by themselfs while actual Speck is better for cooking.

Oh yeah, black forest ham is great too, whenever I make lentil stew I put a bit pan fried black forest ham in it.
