Why do third worlders mistake a truck stop or a gas station for a town? What's wrong with having options when you're a truck driver?

I like Wendy's.

I seriously dont know. For a country that loves to idolized cowboys and soldiers. We seem to consider freedom letting huge companies fuck us up the ass and cover every inch of america with parking lots and fast food.

Eisenhower sold this country out to automobile companies, creating our shitty car culture.

There's a large system of highways and freeways designed to facilitate travel and transfer goods across a country the size of Europe. Quick service restaurants are often located together along main thoroughfares for the convenience of busy travellers.

>Why are there high concentrations of fast food restaurants near highway exits for people who are traveling to stop by on their way to wherever they're going?
Gee, I don't fucking know, OP.

We have these rest stops in Canada, too. It's partly caused by the geographical layout and long stretches of nothing but roads and wilderness. Big brand name companies can afford to truck out their products everywhere, so they're the most common. You can usually find local fare just off the main roads or closer to the hotels/motels.

A lot of people don't seem to get just how unfathomably big countries are over here.

each of those signs is nearly half a block away from each other. just take a look in the google streetview. the OP picture had to have been taken from almost a mile away to give the illusion they're all clustered together.
clever photography, but just more proof that cameras don't capture reality 1 to 1.
