Very early on, when he started doing cooking videos and was a largely unknown entity despite some anonymous user regularly starting threads about him on this board, the comments for his videos would always have jokes about YouTube recommending the video despite it being irrelevant to what they had been doing. It really is that easy to gain a following on YouTube, as long as you are adding new content every week.
