Here is the slab me and my wife picked out for new home kitchen countertops, island, and full backsplash. Floor will be white with grey streaked tile, white cabinets, black hardware.

Looks nice. I went with granite countertops, white cabinets with stainless handles and a brown laminate floor. Its a fake wood floor but its water resistant and looks real. I did white subway tiles for a backsplash. Im at work but I probably have a pic if youre curious

Yea one nice benefit of the slab backsplash is that there are no grout lines to get dirty from splashes of tomato sauce or chili etc. Quartz is 0 maintenance and second hardest stone behind diamond. You don’t have to seal it like you do granite and marble

The 2 slabs came to $7100 after taxes and that was a wholesale price because of her connections. Colombian women are very jewish negotiators ao she beat the guy down to like 6700$. Fabrication and install is gonna run 28$ a square foot and we have 140ish square feet of stone so probably around 3-3.5k to install. Again, this pricing is friends and family rates. I normally handle all our business decisions but I have never built a home before and this is her area of expertise so I am letting her drive the bus. That said retail on this job would probably be around 15k

Make sure the thickness is substantial. Quartz is a good call, the most durable. I like the amount of swirly black in your sample.
I would like to know if you are shooting yourself to be stuck to gray theme throughout your home though. There's little room to get any beige tones to be matchy matchy in adjoining rooms. Gray is kind of a statement that isn't actually that neutral. Natural stone can incorporate a lot more color than that.

“The biggest difference between quartz and quartzite is that quartz is a man-made material, while quartzite is a natural stone. ... A quartz countertop is engineered with the same quartz crystals found in quartzite, but a man-made process binds the crystal with resins, pigments, and other materials such as bits of glass.“

What?
No!
Quartz is a mineral, SiO2, and Quartzite is a stone that's made from mostly Quartz (i.e. Sandstone) but has been through some metamorphosis.

>> No.16717348

>>16713944
sweet deal. engineered stone is superior to natural stone IF you are happy with the design and can find one you like because it is tighter than marble so you dont have to worry about spills as much but dont just let wine chill on it like a retard no matter people tell you some things leave a tint coloration on the stone thats difficult to get off with just water . also find out the manufacture and ask the installers/owners what they recommend to clean and eventually re sealing the stone if need be, the stuff on the shelves at the store could leave an ugly film if you dont use the right stuff

I openly walk into people's yards that have dogs waiting for them to bite me while I deliver their shit. It's open season on them when that happens, but most of the time they just start licking me and want to be loved. I always make sure the ones that treat me well get the best dog treats. Usually had jerky on me while the lessers got milkbone. It's a mutual respect thing I had with people's dogs. Only 2 ever bit me and the owners got a visit from the Sheriff and they had to drive an hour to the warehouse to pick up their orders from then on. Don't fuck with the people that handle your packages. If your dog is an asshole and you order something, you pay close attention when that shit is out for delivery and keep them locked up. This is your obligation as the owner by inviting me to your house to deliver your shit. Scanners can double as clubs when necessary.
One of the 2 that bit me was a shepherd. I still think they're still based.
