The only reason you know how to pronounce burrito is because you have heard burrito pronounced, different languages pronounce things in different ways and when using a language not native to the country you are in you can either show how it's pronounced or constantly deal with people pronouncing your words wrong

That's not even how you pronounce it in Spanish, though. It's boo-ree-toh not buh (also ignoring that the o and t are said a bit differently because they're close analogs)
Buh-ree-toh is how any native English speaker would pronounce that word without any knowledge of Spanish.

All the seating was outdoors. You ordered from the outside at a walk-up window.
They lowered the bean burrito price to 59 cents at least into the early '90s. I was a very poor student and could eat for 1 day on $2, 3- 59 cent bean burritos and a large water.

>I think late 00s is when the decline truly hit
It was exactly around then. You can pretty much track the decline by quality of movies. 70s, 80s generated endless original content and improved the craft through technological advances. The fun loving Hollywood blockbuster culture was established and the attitude in general was positive and hopeful. This foundation was used to great effect in the 90s and up til the early 2000s to produce some very nice films until the ideas began to dwindle. Pessimism was pushed a bit in the 90s but still took a comedic angle and was overshadowed in the early 2000s by the overwhelming force of the XTREME culture shift and its focus on surpassing limitations. Once that faded the stage was ripe for whining and whine they did. The only causes worth fighting for became diversity and feminism and that is exactly when the cultural dropoff occurred. Cause without conviction destroys meaning. Yes, there has always been an element of degeneracy but it was largely held at bay by a population who still respected themselves. To be clear, I am not necessarily saying that movies are the sole force in cultural shifts, though they do likely have a hand in that. Rather, that they are a decent metric through which to discern cultural degeneration at a given point in time. Food quality kind of gives you a window but I doesnt tell you quite as much as movies might.
