I'm assuming the high prices are to cover operational costs of having like 20 different restaurants in the same small park?

also, I wonder how the legalities of disney owning the simpsons is handled in regards to it still being in universal studios, considering the two parks are major competitors.

Universal basically just leases properties from other studios for their parks. Harry Potter World is probably the biggest attraction they have and that’s owned by Warner Brothers. Universal even had Marvel characters at their parks up until Disney opened their Avenger’s campus.

I think they own its television rights. I'd imagine Universal said something like "well of you dont want us to have a Simpsons area you can pay for our replacement" which if Disney is buying could have been a blank check for Universal
