Big weekend breakfast (rare):
2 small pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, toast with butter, and 2 sausage links or 2 slices of bacon. Probably wont eat anything else until dinner.

Weekday breakfast if I have the to go to the office:
nothing

Weekday breakfast if I work from home:
2 small pancakes with some protein (eggs, bacon or sausage)
OR
A breakfast sandwich made with 4 sausage links smothered in fake maple syrup.

>What do you Americans actually eat for breakfast?
Usually nothing, aamof. That's probably why vitamin cereals and meal replacement drinks are so popular among such a "mature" crowd.
Most American adults don't have the time to actually enjoy a real breakfast. I can tell you now that I spent a good 3 quarters of my childhood eating breakfast in the form of something microwavable or wrapped in foil, plastic, or cardboard with a side of milk or high fructose syrup.

If we're eating something made at home Yes, there's usually sunny-side up or scrambled eggs. There's usually sausage or bacon. There's usually either a waffle or pancake. There's usually a secondary starch to go with it, like hashbrowns. Milk or orange juice are the primary drinks of choice. There may be a yogurt and granola with fruit side dish. But it all depends. American breakfast is about enjoying the morning sun with your beloved; the food comes second. A good American breakfast can be anything from smoke and a coffee to a mcdonalds breakfast, so long as you're happy getting from point A to B.

I dont normally eat breakfast, but I like to put cottage cheese on bagels with a little salt. I like biscuits and gravy a full English, but I only have a big meal like that once a year or so. If I'm grabbing a quick meal, bagel with cottage cheese. Cream cheese is great and I dont know how or why I started doing this, but I like it.

We have to go to the wagie cagie so we skip breakfast and just drink coffee instead. I actually don't eat anything until I get off work. I have coffee, 2 gerolsteiners for lunch, then finally eat a large meal of a steak, mashed sweet potatoes, onions and peppers, and peas and carrots. Sometimes I eat liver instead of steak or like 6 bbq chicken thighs.

Do americans sometimes just eat bread with condiments for breakfast? Or is it always egg and bacon, pancakes, oatmeal or egg mcmuffins for breakfast?

This is a standard breakfast where I live, usually there is some butter (made to be spreadable) on the bread as well.

Natural peanut butter on both slices, homemade jam on one.
Coffee with a splash of whole milk.
If I'm feeling especially hungry that morning, I also have a piece of cheese or sausage or deli meat.
Then I down a cold glass of water after cleaning up the dishes.

Yeah it's kinda fucked up. It's a fairly recent phenomena too (within 100 or so years). No doubt sugar and corn syrup lobbyists pushed this agenda. A traditional American breakfast is much like a traditional English one given the cultural influence. Beans, toast, roasted veggies or grilled veggies, eggs. Stuff like that. Cereal is the worst culprit. I cut it out of my life and I think it's been for the better.

Beer if I have it but I usually finish it the day before. Otherwise I just eat whatever food I have that might sometimes include breakfast food just out of coincidence. I woke up at 5pm today. When I'm working ill drink a gulp of milk or a glass of water or whatever leftovers and cook myself some food at work. Beer is by far the best breakfast, something dark and strong. Whatever I consume whether it be water or beer or milk or coffee I always have to immediately poop. So usually the routine is: wake up, pee, pour a pint of water or beer, sit at computer for an hour looking at memes or playing the game i left open, sometime soon after sitting down ill need to shit. Coffee just makes me tired/jittery

They don't starve. If they were hungry they would have eaten before lunch. I generally don't think our bodies are accustomed to eating first thing when we wake up and most people don't have enough time in the morning to eat anything other than a quick bowl of cereal and a coffee before work.
I usually find if I wake up at a time like 6am I don't feel hungry until like 10am.
