So, I cooked up 2 pounds of sea scsllops. Pretty good, a little expensive

>> No.16674264

Cooked them in olive oil and removed. Deglazed with s couple cups of white wine, added some garlic and parsley and reduced it way down. Threw in some butter at the end. Used a lot of wine just to finish the bottle

Thanks. Its my wifes favorite. I made the mistake of not rinsing them once and got a little sand

Your scallops have no sear, and they're just floating in a sauce pool by themselves with no other ingredients. I'm sure they might be pretty good, but at least try a little harder with your technique and plating if you want attention.

>> No.16674354

>>16674349
Decent sear. I cooked the sauce after the scallops and like I said I unloaded a lot of wine just to get rid of it

>> No.16674360

>>16674341
You got a very mediocre, bordering on shit-tier sear on these scallops. Either turn the heat up, crowd the pan less, or use a pan with higher heat retention.

Would still eat/10 because I fucking love scallops.

Also, who the fuck eats 30+ fucking scallops for dinner.

As far as plating that is a massive bowl and I just went from the stove and threw it all in there

Like I said I unloaded some wine. Served it with a ceadar salad and used a slotted spoon to serve the scallops

I'd eat that many. I'd also sear them properly and not whine about no comments in my scallop thread though.

Didnt mean to come off cunty, just miss threads with food people cooked. The sear was so-so. Used a Tfal pan way past its prime.

There's no way those aren't overcooked especially sitting all piled up in the sauce like that. Literally all scallops needs is a nice sear on both sides.

If you read, I cooked the scallops first and pulled them. I made the sauce hot as hell and reduced it big time. Then poured rhe sauce over the scallops.
About a 6/10. I used 7/10 scallops, dried parsley and a load of wine. No fresh lemon
