He has 1,5 million subscribers and his videos are filled with appreciative comments. Only at a den of incels he has detractors. And it's never something concrete they hate him for. No, it's always catty, petty, bitchy stuff: he's too condescending, he's too smug, I don't like his recipes, he talks too much, he doesn't explain more methods, he explains methods I dislike, yadda yadda.
The rest of us love his charisma, his witty humour, his experienced and laid back approach to cooking, the fact that he bothers to explain things in detail and is tolerant of other points of view, etc. The guy has lots of great qualities that makes up appreciate him.

He's just another reddit cooker. My friend watches Adam and they have the same philosophy for cooking. My friend only makes simple things and doesn't believe in any form of objectivity in cooking. These people really think that cooking should be quick and easy. None of them want to spend any real time cooking something that is difficult or take risks in the kitchen. Their cooking will never leave "pretty good" territory. His channel encourages nothing but cutting corners for sub-par results and only eating mostly adult man-child meals. Examples of this are the many home oven pizza and pasta recipes. These people don't want you to be a better cook. It's people like chef john that really care. He gives you techniques that most chefs would make you pay them for. Chef john literally went of of his way to investigate the zucchini pasta secret butter amount so that the viewers could enjoy it properly. Essentially Adam just wants people to accept being mediocre. You'll never see anything technically brilliant and original coming from his channel. He's not even sort of qualified to tell people how to cook.
