I started from scratch. Feed it bread flour and bottled water every day. Sometimes I discard. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I mix in part whole wheat flour. After it was really active I would keep it in fridge, pull it out, feed it, sometimes twice, then cook with it. Then feed it and put it back in fridge. I would try to feed it once a week when it was in fridge.
