Black people really think that slaves ate macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, and yams.
Ok nigs. Im sure massa supplied you all with pasta, flavorful cheeses, costly spices, supplies AND good parts of the chicken for frying. Niggers on the plantation definitely did not eat a simple diet of beans, vegetables and sugary water and were eating that 9 secret spices soul food and there was a bbq by the pool every Friday.

Iirc slaves were allowed to keep chickens on some (or most?) plantations.
Chickens are fairly low maintenance animals, so it doesn’t get in the way of fieldwork much.
Or at least it’s something I vaguely remember from that black guy reenactor who was on Townsends a while back.
