Could I use this small $60 grill as a meat smoker, to make decent brisket, wings, fish, ect. Or is it just too small and shitty?

You can make do with anything, Brocephus. If you want low and slow smaller grills are horrible. The bigger charcoal models with offset firebox aren't that much higher price-wise.

You can get smokers on craigslist for dirt cheap. I got an 18" webber smokey mountain for like $80. I'd check that out, or facebook marketplace.

I bet you could make okay bbq on a grill like your pic, but it might be more of a hassle than it's worth

Why are traegers still $800 new, the bubble has burst and they have off-brand competition now

Pit-Boss all day long. Work great and customer service is amazing. I went full on blast, open char, highest heat to cook off the new on my grill. I cooked the control panel. Because they hadn't warned me in the manual, they FedExed me a new CP to install, then helped me install it over the phone. Fuck Traeger.

Some people like to fish ... some people like to play bocce with friends, or golf, some people like to sit down, relax smoke a brisket, read a book, watch birds, play with the kids or grand kids, or just relax and tend to a side smoker, split wood one after another.

I piss off my neighbors every other week. I like that part.

I want an offset but I'm far too autistic to allow for temperature fluctuations. I've been designing a watercooled offset but I have my doubts of it actually working.
I don't mind tending to my smoker, I just don't want to be fiddling with shit every time I add fuel to the fire.
