I love shitty cheeseburgers that come in this generic wrapper. You know, the type of burger you would get at a takeout place that doesn't even specialize in burgers, like a chinese food restaurant.

They’re up there with finely-aged rollergrill hotdogs at a convenience store, with that patina and exterior texture which can’t be replicated by any other cooking method.

Kind of reminds me of childhood, I hardly ever get them but 7-11 cheeseburgers scratch this itch for me.

I had one of these today for lunch actually. I'll take it over McDonalds any day. Cheaper too

Usually the best places for burgers have simple presentation. I used to go to this one place that was real hidden away but had the best charbroiled burgs and full sugar root beer on their fountain. I miss that place.

yeah i buy cheeseburgers from the local kebab shop, they are shitty but there is just something about them

They're one of those things I regret having to order and do out of desperation but always find them comforting. I'm with you OP.

same, but for me it is AM-PM

It isn't all beef, sometimes it has 20% TVP or another meat entirely. It works, and I love it.

What kind of cheese does mcdonalds use? The shitty quality cheese is just so good on a double burg when you're drunk as hell

Like the burger you would get from a halal chicken&rice spot. I know what you mean.
Burger-focused places are getting too hyped up on meme marketing details. Making things super greasy or super big. Even places like McDonalds, Wendy's, BK, do that shit now.
It's nice to have a burger that isn't in a competition. just a humble, regular burger. It's less overstimulating, less tiring; like having a filter coffee instead of espresso.

It's a proprietary processed cheese made by Kraft exclusively for McDonalds, using a unique blend of mostly cheddar and some other unspecified types of cheese along with whey and emulsifiers. You can't buy it in stores.

>> No.16548985

>>16548974
Kraft doesn't make McDonald's cheese. I know this for a fact since I know the guy that was a senior scientist on kraft cheese before it was kinda sold to lactalis.
You should be happy it's not made by kraft anyhow. 3G Capital owns kraft and they're a bunch of smelly Brazilians

>> No.16548996

>>16548985
McDonalds has different cheese suppliers in different countries and regions, of which Kraft is one of them.

>> No.16549010

>>16548996
Kraft isn't one of them. Kraft doesn't even make it's own fuckin cheese. It's all 3rd party plants. McDonald's used to use kraft for it's McCafe retail beans but they switched suppliers for that.

Reminds me of this burger place that was next to a popular live music venue. They had a theme going on where they had music memorabilia on the walls and the burgers were named after hit songs, but the people who made them knew what they were doing; that is they got the fundamentals perfected and had a slew of variety without going over the top and using pretentious ingredients or cooking methods. That was my favourite burger joint by far.

The moral of the story is a basic burger cooked well is a lot better than a fancy burger cooked mediocrely.

is it a sin to like any burger that any restaurant has ever served me? To be so indiscriminate? Sometimes they cost too much for the quality but I have never had a burger that I wouldn't have liked if it were free

Yeah, sometimes you just want a normal burger that has an expected taste. Five guys fits this niche, I think, but their burgers are way too fucking expensive for what it is. I could buy a pound of meat and make my own shit for the price of one five guys burger. Cut the price in half and I would eat there all the time.
