Undermount sinks are one of the more retarded trends in home building. For one, the transition from countertop to sink looks like shit, no matter how well it's installed. For another, with modern homebuilders putting together an entire subdivision in one summer, attention to detail goes out the window. I very much doubt that the caulking job on the underside of that countertop was done correctly, so water is going to start leaking under the countertop through that gap and start rotting away the underside. The only reason builders started using undermount sinks to begin with is because they are trying to maximize the counterspace in the tiny kitchens that they build. If your kitchen is so tiny that you can't sacrifice 2 inches of flange space on a countertop, your house sucks.

He’s been there a lot longer than me and is the assistant manger and he’s a good dude but he has trouble getting to work on time and calls out all the time. I feel bad taking the management role from him but I don’t even know if he really wants it.
