I'm sure. In 12 years we had two presidents who between them made every single person on the globe seethe. That's smart. On the other hand, I can't name the head of state of literally a single country other than the us. That's also smart.

looks like a Hispanic dish from they way the onions look they were likely limed

Also in case you are wondering why europeans are obsessed with the USA the ones that browse 4chan are americaboos which means they are big fans of american culture.

But europeans have different culture where they bash countries only a few miles from them. So to feel closer to north americans they like to engage in banter they look specifically for americans to talk to and often without need bring them up to possibly get a reply chain going. These type of people while they act ignorant really enjoy learning new things about the country and hearing about what we eat and do.

So next time you see the post "do americans really?" just know that its a european who really likes americans and wants to know more about your culture.

Actual hispanic here I've NEVER seen plantains like that next to onions its super lightly colored not even yellowed. But i confirm the dishes next to them are hispanic staples in like every country the rice and beans and i forget what the others are called.

What country eats this? i can tell the onions have been soaked in something but never ever in my life have heard of or seen this

It's green plantain that is steamed or baked, versus deep fried. The pickled onion is yuca style. To me? This looks like a diet special, since there is no swimming in garlic oil like you'd see with yuca and pickled onions usually.I suppose they might mash it together when decanting into the ToGo container, like a fufu, or else maybe this is just some specific hispanic culture I dunno about, like paraguay. My nica neighbor ccoks plantain in the skin, in the microwave, so there's zero fat added. To each their own.
This picture is likely a portion of a fritanga or Blue Sky, or another prepared cantina takeout food for family of __, like the takeout version of KFC meal for 4. Cantina dinners are priced for the size of the portions, you just point to the mains and sides you like when picking them up, and whatever the specials tend to be. When I worked downtown near the hospital, I'd be pretty sick of the hospital food after a year of same ol same ol, and I loved that the parking garage had one of these places, where the 4 specials of the day varied by day of the week, always a different homemade soup like ajiaco one day, sancocho the next, and sides were anything from marinated avocados lime marinated green mango with cilantro, fricasse, lechon, oh it was good down to the soft baked bread.
