I used to work at dollar tree. Had the most bizarre customers which was fascinating. Most of my fun there was being wildly overdressed for the job and seeing how much I could bend rules because turnover is so high and corporate doesn’t fire people for inane drivel (e.g. I got written up like 7 times for being over in my till (which was partly deliberate)) Don’t recommend working there.

5 dollars a day? A meal? This is why poor people are poor. They can't plan ahead and live day by day paycheck to paycheck. $5 a day is $150 a month - buy things in bulk. Don't turn your nose up at the basics. You could very easily feed a family of 2 adults two children on that budget if you weren't a picky American fat fuck with a poor person mentality.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that meat. It’s just like what you get in a grocery store. The reason why it’s a dollar is the same reason why you’re only buying 3.5oz and 30% of it is water so it’s only 2oz of meat very thin slices of steak.

I grew up as a poorfag during the nonsense in 2008. While there are people who are just down on their luck its not out of the question at all that a lot of other poorfags are either addicted to something be it drugs or alcohol, too retarded/unstable to keep even a steady Walmart job for more than a few weeks at most, or are completely impulsive with their finances and get into all kinds of dumb shit.

This "just buy rice and beans in bulk" advice is fine if you're a college student or some shit but if you're homeless or working 80 hours a week and still deeply in debt with no prospect of social mobility then suggesting you buy beans instead of tacos or some shit is retarded advice, do whatever you want chances are your finances and quality of life are going to be shit no matter what.
