just bought some allegedly authentic saffron, it was $10 for 1.5 grams

what am i in for? what sort of dish should i cook with it? i was curious what the hubbub is all about so i finally bought some

Saffran is great with rice. I remember some cook once recommended me to grind it down first, mix it with little bit of water or milk and add it to the rice(but only at the very end of the cooking, otherwise it'll loose its taste)

Also for some reason when I eat saffran i get extremely horny for some reason, which is actually said to happen if you consume saffran.

Some jerk is gonna come in here and tell you that you bought safflower not saffron, ignore that low effort ass.

I like to cook my rice (literally any method will work) and once it's done to my liking and ready to serve I quickly but gently mix some saffron into it. The saffron doesn't diffuse through all the rice but it leaves these bright pockets of yellow-orange-red stained rice that are full of intense saffron aroma, and also look nice against the rest of the white rice.

that sounds good though, for how little saffron you need i think this 1.5 grams will go far so i will try a few things

They had tiny bottles of saffron at TJ Maxx a few months back. No cameras in the aisle. Pocketed 4 of them and walked right out, easy as pie. Got a nice little stash now. What should I make? I've only used it in rice so far.

The only time I recall eating saffron, I was on the front patio of a restaurant in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and there were a bunch of hot /fa/ Italian women walking around visiting the shops. I was feeling horny, but I don't think it had anything to do with the saffron.

Heard from some iranian that the way to 'get' the taste for saffron is to have it in warm milk. Don't burn the milk, just heat it with the saffron slowly. There's a lot of fat soluble flavor in there.

Prepare to be disappointed, it's not that good. It adds a little bit of a unique flavor and a lot of color but at the end of the day if it wasn't dummy expensive nobody would be talking about it.

The saffrole out of saffron is a precursor for making MDMA. People say it has similar but way more mild effects. MDMA can make you horny.
