16381483 No.16381483 [Reply] [Original]

Growing up most of my friends families, when they are spaghetti, they would store the left over noodles separately from the sauce. My mother would always store them together.

If I were to eat the leftovers the next day I would microwave the noodles and sauce. Since the noodles had been sitting with the sauce in the fridge they would absorb the sauce and I loved it.

I still love it so much to today that when I have spaghetti I will make it early, mix it with sauce and put in fridge and then later reheat it in the microwave. The noodles absorb so much of the sauce and the edges of the spaghetti get nice and crispy. I love it.

Oddly interesting thread, OP. I grew up in a "store it separate" household, yet always keep them stored mix as an adult. I think it clings to the noodles better after sitting.

I'll get hate for this, but I also like heating it so it's half warm and half cool...love the varying temperature with each bite.

If you're telling others they should be making fresh pasta I hope you're starting out with flour and water and not just talking out of your butt, and that takes a lot longer than 10 minutes to make fresh homemade pasta;

But keeping the pasta as leftovers is practically more work than just cooking new portions (and is a significantly worse experience in my personal opinion)

When you microwave spaghetti or any pasta leftovers, run your whole hand under running water. Douse your leftovers at least twice with the residue on your hands with a flick of the wrist. This reconstitutes the water that evaporated from the night before.

>You said "fresh" pasta
He obviously meant fresh "pasta" as in pasta dish you retard.
But you could technically do also fresh pasta since it's piss easy to make something like pici or maltagliati if you have a pasta machine.The total preparation time goes up to 40 min if you do everything in parallel.

Sometimes I do it, but if I'm planning to make fresh pasta i start doing it 10 minutes before

i grew up WASP associating with other WASPs and always stored separate. nowadays I know sauce+pasta for 5 min on low at the end binds the sauce to the pasta, and keeps it from falling off and slopping all over you (taking 10 min to make a real sauce instead of using jar shit fixes this too). depressed mom cooking is killing us all
