Mince lamb. Combine with spices and a binding agent, form into cylinder. Insert spit. Roast via rotisserie. Pull wire cutter along the length of the cylinder to cut.

You can make it easily yourself. Blend lamb and beef and spices. Cook in a bread pan and squish down. Slice thin and enjoy

I have an addiction to gyros, /ck/ but I'm going broke buying them from restaurants.
how do I make a gyro?
I have the luxury of living (I shit you not) an Arab and Mediterranean grocery store; the latter probably also owned by Arabs.
but I dunno how to make a gyro and I'm retard for not taking advantage of them yet. pls halp

You won't be able to have a rotating spit like you'll see in restaurants, but its totally serviceable. The meat is fairly simple, tzatiki is easy and everything else is just sliced on it

the meat is a mixture of beef and lamb. a lot more beef than lamb. like with a meatloaf, you get it tender by using a lot of breadcrumbs.

The quality range is huge. I've had good and bad.
The worst, however, will always be the pre-cut slices/circles that are thrown onto a griddle.
