My roommate was born near Golden, CO and exclusively drinks Coors Banquet.
I don't mind it but I might just have beer Stockholm Syndrome.
I like Modelo Negra because I worked with a bunch of Messicans during highschool and that's all they drank.
I'm beginning to just now realize that all of my beer preferences are just the preferences of other people around me.

Years ago, I used to work at USAC, Nascar and other races at a super speedway for fun. I worked out of the press box except during the race itself when I was right behind the pits on a closed circuit line with the press box.

One morning of a race sponsored by Coors, I went down to where they kept the beer cool to talk to someone. I noticed that they had cases of Coors for after the race. I told the guy that if it was up to me, they would leave the Coors there and bring up some Shiner instead.

When I got back up to the press box after the race, what did I see? They had brought up a case of Coors and a case of Shiner to the press box. When the night was done, they had some Coors left, but the Shiner was all gone.

Note: Photo is completely unrelated.

just a saying. the originals had higher abv's but then in the 80's peak aesthetics and a health conscious public, these breweries were able to open plants around the country and license their new light beer production everywhere else - less effort, more output, higher price, shittier flavor so kids wouldn't drink it, the works.
now people drink these lite beers and have no idea that it's just a lite version of an original, because it's what their parents drank. shit's so fucking stupid. bothers me just as much as gamers hopping onto a new game installment and not even caring about the storyline, where it all began.

In Terms of Macro beer, Coors has a unique position in that it delivers a cold beer which people expect.

The water quality which comprises Coors is at a premium, which makes a big difference. They have not adopted the cheaper method of rice for their grain-another premium, and have cold-filtered their beer. This is a niche Macro-brew strategy which has clearly paid off. They are not in the business of curating taste for discerning consumers. They are in the business for creating a light beer which tastes excellent while cold.

This is my favorite for casual drinking, seems analogous to America's steel reserve from what I can tell. It has 8% alcohol, a decent taste(albeit a tad on the sweet side), and most importantly it's one of the cheapest beers here.

ha no, she married my uncle when I was already in college. 6th wife for him, and she's the cunt he deserves. I've met her exactly twice and that's plenty. I don't mind her treating my uncle like trash, because he is an awful person, but she treated all of us like she was the Tsarina and not just his homewrecking translator from his assignment in Chelyabinsk.

I will say I got a helluva laugh at her expense. Southern Idaho is a windy place, and power outages are common. So when she was visiting the ranch last, the power went out in the mid afternoon. No big deal to us, but she FREAKED the fuck out. Like full on panic attack, despite it being a sunny summer afternoon. She made my uncle pack up and they went into town to stay in the nearest motel, a nasty place like pic related.

Apparently in her childhood, the power going out was an indicator you were about to be disappeared.
