No, I'm doing it correctly. What I want is a big mac, constructed normally, but without the middle piece of bread. If I wanted a mcdouble with mac sauce I'd just order it that way at the kiosk

and im telling you the only thing you're missing out on is the sesame seed bun. onions, pickles, lettuce, sauce are all free. so the extra cost in the big mac comes from the sesame seed bun, and the extra bun in the middle.

it actually might. mcdonalds is very hit and miss.
reason is that the burger is assembled/dressed on the bottom bun and the middle bun, and the top is just placed on top. They would have to assemble it on the top and bottom instead or just the bottom. the only way to get the right order of ingredients would be to dress the actual patty.
