Has innovation in cuisine stopped? With the advent of technology and ingredients being so widespread it seems like every possible dish has already been made and tried at some point. Everything is just a slight variation of stuff people have already made for hundreds of years. Where can the culinary arts even go from here?

>Has innovation in cuisine stopped?
Not even a little. Food innovation is booming, it just generally is produced by R&D teams working for food manufacturers.

Traditional food innovation is dead, nowadays its all about the mass produced stuff (from "real" food like fast food burgers to chips and soda) and "life hacks".
It's not bad though, now we can go back to perfecting technique

Literally impossible. There are so many different ingredients in the world that there isn't enough time to make them all. You just FEEL like everything is done.

Thousands of years of human culture already discovered which ingredients work well with each other though. Be my guest if you wanna count Cinnamon Mint Chicken Liver Stew topped with a Snickers bar as "culinary evolution" though

Some guy here just made some fettuccine with ketchup and Velveeta, that's probably innovative.
