Whataburger is a very decent quality burger that's available 24/7, almost anywhere in Texas.

There are certainly better places that are not chains, but Whataburger is a fucking excellent chain.

The issue is, so many Texans have excellent memories of doing dumb or excellent shit, late at night, when nothing else is open. So a solid 7/10 burger and 5/10 fries turn into supercharged turbo pants-creaming food memories.

Whataburger is fucking great, don't get me wrong. It's well past the average mark, and it's helped that their locations are heavily consistent and 24/7.

Whataburger definitely deserves the cult following, and if you don't like it, you don't have to, go join your other cult.
