As a chef once advised me: think about the nature of the food in front of you. Avocado is by nature fatty. It would need something acidic to cut through that fattyness. Fruity acid like cider/red wine vinegar and lemon/lime work quite well.

Most of the ones sold in stores taste quite bland too so your probably going to need some seasoning. Salt and pepper work quite well with most things, but what about herbs and spices? You have great flexibility because fatty things like butter, egg yolk and cream will just soak up and carry the flavour of these when used in a great enough quantity or strangely mute these flavours when used in small quantities. So we have great flexibility, but don't know what'll taste good. Let's think laterally for a minute. What else are we going to eat with the avocado? If meat think about what goes well with that meat. Beef? then try some coriander, green pepper, cayenne. Lamb? then hit it with cumin, garlic mint, parsley.

If the nature of the food is towards dry then the fattyness of the avocado will compensate. That's why it tastes so good with bread/tortillas.

Just eat it by itself, but one at a time.

This is for the Hass only, you have to let it ripen first; has to, due to agriculture practice. There is an ideal point where the skin has turned dark and the fruit soft to squeeze for maximum fat, rich avocado flavor.

You can actually eat it once the skin has darken uniformly, but still hard. However, it will not taste as fat and rich; after dark is when the creaminess really pick up. Do not let it in soften stage for more than 3 days, or it goes south quick, the flesh degrade into mush and growing internal roots or some shit.

I never needed marketing to like avocados. They belong in the trio of delicious fresh foods, with cucumber and celery. I can't understand why anyone would dislike them, unless their palate is ruined by grease and fried carbs. Sometimes you just crave a clean, fresh bite of something light and easily digestible.

Perhaps it's a bit of Galen's humorist theory that those who are of an inherently choleric and sanguine disposition, that live a hot and heavy lifestyle, need something cool and purging to balance their emotional humors. You're probably a wimpy melancholic chud who can't get up in the morning, so you need hot and intense foods to give you more vital life force so you can talk to girls without stuttering.
