Well, doordash was offering 50% off (up to $50) on grocery store orders, so I figured fuck it, might as well give it a shot and see how badly they can fuck it up.

Anyone else ever try doordash for groceries?

Also, I didn't order any meat or seafood or similar products that I would rather personally select.

Aside from the super-rare promotion like this, it's never worth it. Why would I pay 150% of the cost (or more) to have groceries delivered when I can get off my ass and go get them myself? Not only that, I actually give a shit about the quality of the produce, meat, and other fresh goods that I choose compared to some drone that'll chuck any under- or overripe fruit or veg or low-quality piece of meat into a cart, and with a few seconds of looking I can grab the milk or bread or anything else that expires a few days later than what's most visible.

I got mostly dry-goods and canned goods. Figured i'd use it as a chance to stock up on non-perishables.

And yeah, I would never use it for meat/vegg/fruit.

And I also wouldn't bother using it without the 50% off, as the prices were clearly marked up by $0.25-$3 per item compared to in-store pricing. Most items were under $1 difference compared to in-store, but it was still noticeably more expensive.

Well they didn't have some of the stuff I ordered so about $25 in shit got refunded, but they also didn't reduce the discount, so the discount was still based on the original $99 subtotal.

Ended up paying $40 for like $65-70 worth of shit. Including the $11 tip.

yeah, it's alright. The grocery stores around here are heavily regulated by governments agencies and whatnot so the produce and meats are always top notch and well sorted. No worries letting the delivery driver choose whatever I'm looking for.

Do people actually tip delivery drivers? I thought that was just a meme. Honestly I never tip and with good reason. I’ve never met a delivery driver that was happy.
>oh it’s just a side gig
>haha yeah just trying to figure stuff out

My main goal is to make the wagies so angry and upset that they quit and try to get a real job where they can better themself instead of being a mindless drone. Down the road they should consider my no tip the greatest tip they’ve ever got, the catalyst to break away and find real happiness.

I used it twice in the past, the first time I tipped because it seems like a locked feature on Postmates. The second time I ordered something, I just closed to app when it asked for a tip and haven't used it since

Did this retard just tip the delivery guy 11 dollars.

It's tipping on a $100 grocery store purchase seems reasonable enough.

Door dash drivers never follow the instructions I put in the app.
The retards always end up calling me or texting me when all they have to do is drop shit on the ground by a door. Fuck them.

More less use instacart more often then not for groceries since i curbside pickup the rest of my orders from most stores but i do use doordash for food orders & there most the time pretty accurate with the deliveries as long as your not expecting drinks then its a 50/50 you might get your drink at all

still tipping an arbitrary percentage? because you are the nigger who's being influenced by the jew here

theoretically, in that situation, I would probably tip less

But in this case, I was dealing with ~40 items including 2 cases of 36 packs of water. It took him ~30-40 minutes in the store.

That seems worth ~$10-12 of tip in my eyes.

Especially when I'm getting a massive discount anyway and am already saving money compared to buying it normally. Might as well make the driver happy about it.

And good luck getting any driver to take your order if you're tipping $2-3 on a $100 grocery bill.
