never liked asparagus remember when i was a kid we had friends over mom forced me to finish the asparagus it was slimy and stringy tried to force it all down at once ended up vomiting all over the table

Quality is highly variable. I swear almost every bunch around here has its share of stalks with wet/slimy tops and that's just disappointing. If you get a good bunch during peak season it's fuckin' great though.
