I've been getting more into cooking lately, starting out with very simple easy recipes for now tho they're more fun anyway . Today I'm making hardtack, pic related, from this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPTdSMOQRnY&t=290s

I really like this guy, he makes good stuff. Also I recently learned to make eggs sunny side up and discovered seasoning for hamburgers. Plop a nice egg on a burger and that shit goes crazzyyy.

ITT: Other easy beginner recipes for idiots like me

bro how did you know I like easy peas, that same guy I linked has a more complex recipe for Vitrulian peas or however it's spelled. Was thinking of making those but I'd need Garum. hmmm

that does look really good though. I usually shy away from meats because I'm afraid of under cooking but I guess simple things like this would be a logical next step. Thanks bro

This is good if you like soups. You can even make a bunch and freeze it to reheat for more meals.

It's like 3 ingredients, tastes amazing every time. Use whatever shape pasta you want.

I serve it with the salmon from this bill granger recipe https://robbydogcooks.com/2016/06/10/glazed-salmon-with-a-cucumber-sesame-salad/

Takes like 10 mins once the rice is done.

No thanks. Maybe link a recipe for men next time and I might be inclined to try it. One that uses carbon steel or cast iron.

I don't actually cook much but I like making my own ingredients/simple foods instead of buying them from the store. Stuff that's super easy to make with lots of room for error/customization:
yogurt
jam
ghee
sauerkraut
rice wine
marinades

I used to be like that. If you're cooking meat chunks like that I'd just cut one in half and see if it had been cooked before plating. If not then put it back in and cook longer. You get better in time.
