Is this normal in America?

>> No.16161045

Yes. There's no reason they shouldn't charge that much for their service, it isn't essential that food be delivered to you. If you want to spend 6 bucks, go get it.

You're paying a business to do a one time delivery of inexpensive perishables for another businesses lol. Of course it costs more.

>> No.16162112

Yes sir. It baffles me that people still use delivery apps when the total gets cranked up this much. Jesus christ, just go down to the place and order take out or do it over the phone. You can always get drunk or stoned when you get back and save yourself the money wtf

They charge the restaurants a fuckhuge percentage of the sale and a per-transaction credit processing fee as well. And the 1099 delivery workers don't make shit either. Delivery apps are a blight. Everybody is getting ripped off by them.

I dunno. 50cent delivery is pretty common where I live and ubereats caps their service fee to $4. Obviously don't do a small order and wait for a buy one get one free or a free item or x off deal. I usually only use it one a month though so I'm not going to worry too much about it.

you're usually expected to either:

1) order during non-peak hours or else fees will be higher at peak for obvious reasons
2) spend at least 15 dollars to make to not get the small order fee, otherwise it's not worth it for anyone involved to take such a small money order
3) join their monthly subscription service, which will help lower costs across the board and for the frequent buyer you really do save a ton of money(I saved like 500 bucks last month)

t. 400lb death feeder and growing, i rely on food order apps for most of my meals

I've never used any of these delivery apps and can't imagine spending all that money when I can just drive down the street and get the shit myself. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people today?
