ITT: we discuss ways of cooking in a modern kitchen without electricity and mainly water.Becuas whenever there is a natural disaster in my country the water in my country looks like chocolate milk coming out of the tap
>I live in a shitty island and back when I was a newfag during hurricane Irma and Maria I made a shitty post asking how to cook with as little water as possible assuming you have a gas stove and good food storage already

Get a lifestraw if you can. You need water to live.

I smoke a lot of meat. Lots of ways to do this. Watch American BBQ Showdown on Netflix. Like the Hawaiins. You can gook stuff in the ground by digging and using leaves to form a makeshift oven. You can also just use a bonfire pit with a cast iron skillet and do pretty much anything you can get your hands on with it. Get some of those high heat bbq gloves or even a campfire style tray. Make sure you have metal skewers around for desparat measures.

water filtration system if you can afford it, or some small filter to at least drink water. you can cook all sorts of ways with gas and fire, but it's all worthless if you get sick. you need clean water

>> No.16130935

Binchotan.

But you need a special charcoal to grill indoors.

Rain barrel. And a bucket of rinse crushed up charcoal.
Then boil the water for ten minutes.

You need clean water, there's no getting around that. You can cook without it but you should really keep some on hand. I fill up my old liquor bottles and label them and stick them in a closet, I had enough that I was giving water away during that ice storm that fucked Texas. You might want to look into boxed or canned broths for stuff like rice or soups so you don't dip into your drinking water to make food.

As for methods, alcohol is a great fuel and you can make a mini stove out of a couple soda cans if you have scissors and a push pin or needle or something. Sterno is gelled so you can't spill it and it comes in a can of its own but IDK if it's economical or even available wherever you are. Sterno should be damn cheap but like everything else it's been climbing in price thanks to C19. It also might not hurt to keep a charcoal grill around, I have a small one that I never use but can fall back on if my gas ever goes out or whatever.

Gasoline can be gotten at any one of a bazillion gas stations (prior to the shit hitting the fan) whereas alcohol has to be gotten from a hardware store.
