I love Publix because it lets me sample rare and exotic Bongistani items. I’ve learned the joys of Heinz Beans, Branston Pickle, Bovril, Tunnocks Wafers, and Yorkshire Gold Tea.

Not that anon, but my Publix’s subs would seem “too expensive” if some idiot only buys the half ones, because the pricing really favors the whole ones.
Like the tendie sub there is 5.99 for a half, but only $2 more for a whole.

I moved recently and I miss my Publix. It was just down the road and I could go there to get groceries quick or even get a chicken cordon bleu sub and soup. The Harris Teeter down the road from me is nice but outside of rotisserie/fried chicken they don't have anything I can go in and grab to eat like that. It's strange, because other Harris Teeters have had subs, pizza, and what not but not this one. Plus Publix always had amazing fruit. Never got anything bad from there.

Assuming I’m speaking from some personally local emotional investment rather than simply traveling and seeing that major grocery chains are very regional is retarded, Anon.
Referring to Publix as a “hick store” is even more retarded, as it’s easily within the top few major US chains in terms of product selection and service.
I’d also point out the fact that not every store which carries Boars Head deli items also offers to put them in made-to-order sandwiches, but you’d likely accuse me of being some sort of paid corporate shill.

Literally the only thing I miss about living in Florida, they're the only store I've seen that has freshly ground 30/70 ground beef, made amazing burgers. Walmart has high fat ground beef too but it's shipped in and basically sucks. The steaks and chops and other meat there was also a notch up imo. Had to live in Florida for a year, and I went to eight different Publix locations in that time, and here's my honest thoughts:

Their subs are shit. I genuinely have no fucking clue what 4chan's obsession with Publix subs are. They're overpriced, use barely-passable ingredients and legitimately don't taste better than the crap you'd pick up at a DiBella's or something.

The stores are fine but frankly not any better than a Kroger or a non-ghetto Food Lion. What's the angle, honestly? Is it just underages memeing at each other because you almost never see black people in one?

yea it does dumbass. most of them are pretty shitty but they do have good beef, i'll go there for that. when i went to the midwest the best thing i could compare it to was a jewel osco, it looked, felt and smelled the same as a winn dixie.

here in boca we actually have a kosher winn dixie but no kosher publix, which is odd. you get a nostalgia feel for publix because if you grew up here you remember going there all the time and its like taking a little step back into childhood every time i go. it also helps that the store brand stuff is usually better than anything name brand. the customer service is 100% better than any other store and the people that work there dont look like miserable, low wage trash slogging through their day, everyone says hi to you as youre shopping and asks you if you need any help. the store is clean. the deli and bakery are top notch and they always have really good premade meals for the days im lazy and dont feel like cooking or eating fast food.

When I was 5 my parents took me to the US to go to Disney and whatnot.

We would go to publix for groceries. They had these little electric ticket dispensers in the isles that dispensed coupons. I had no concept of coupons so I took one and asked my mum what it was. The coupon was for a carving board, so she told me it was a carving board. Me and my sister collected one of each of the coupons from every isle, calling them 'carving boards'. My parents obviously thought it was cute because they never corrected us.

I've been back to the States as an adult and found the food to be shockingly oversweetened and hfcs laden, but I still have warm memories of going to publix to collect the carving boards from the little electric dispensers.
