So is $152 legitimately a lot of money for you anons? Those are normal prices for a pre-pandemic sit down meal in a college neighborhood like St Marks. You can easily get all that shit for $30 total going downtown a couple of train stops.

people drink tsingtao because its light and floral and goes very well with the food, not because of its ABV. Its also quite memed and thus it isnt cheap

>> No.16117028

It's a very subpar lager. "light and floral, goes well with food" can apply to almost every lager, that's the entire point of that style.
Found a 6-pack for $9, same price as local craft beers. Tsingtao is actually a pretty rare find in the USA, usually only available at specialty stores or Asian restaurants. Compared it to a $3 Mickey's 40-oz. Noticeably worse than the Mickey's, which really says something. If a beer comes in a green or clear bottle, then you know it's a joke lol. That's why I compared it to the Mickey's, to try to level the playing field.

Chinese places tend to be really expensive in Australia when compared to other cuisines. I don't know why their dishes are all $20-30 when I could go to a thai/malaysian/indian/vietnamese/korean/whatever place next door and get better food for $13-15. Thai has been the MVP here for a long long time. Chinese food is disgusting too, definitely not worth the prices.

Not a meal - several meals.

Or have you never been on a table with more than 3 people?

>> No.16118398

Expensive or luxurious chinese restaurants are a fucking scam. They use the same fucking ingredients but the only difference is that the presentation is fancy. Thing is the food tastes the same as your neighborhood chinese restaurant or worse.

Also chinese restaurants tend to rack up the price of tsingtao (I've seen it here at a restaurant I go to asking for € 2 per bottle) and presenting it as something special when it's cheap beer. I buy it at my local asian supermarket at € 0.80 a bottle.

What I remember as chinese food growing up as a young kid in Hong Kong

>turtle/shark fin soup
>fried chicken feet
>pig uterus noodles
>fried rice with pork knuckle gristle
>unidentifed fish balls on a stick
>boiled dog meat
>one time, monkey brains

Americans have no idea how bad it really is. No one in china knows what the fuck beef and broccoli is or sweet and sour pork. Chinese food is disgusting. Literally the worst parts to eat of any animal. Makes sense because chinks are the race of humans closest to animals. They make disgusting noises when they eat, slurp everything, men in the streets lift their fucking wife beaters over their sweaty stomachs while laughing and chewing with their mouths full of food. Like what kind of idiot decided 2 sticks is the most practical way to eat grains of fucking rice. Starving Nigerians who eat grass have a better diet than the average chinese.
