They're called Public Houses for a reason. Don't want random cunts in your house, meet at the pub and have a few pints. It's comfy, there's the regulars there for a bit of a chat. There's the pool table and darts board for a few games. These days half of them do food to soak up the beer as well.

People will pay 3-4-5x the price for alcohol just so they get the feeling of 'being out' and get the energy that comes from being in a social environment. If you are an introvert, you do not get this benefit. But most people do. That's why these places still exist despite the insane cost.

I never got the trope in film/television of someone sitting alone at the bar stoically downing shots of whiskey. That'd be incredibly expensive and I'd be absolutely plastered just taking shot after shot.

My biggest problem with bars and pubs has always been transportation. If I can't drive home drunk, then how do I get there? Am I supposed to take a cab or an uber or w/e both ways? Bars and pubs are already expensive without having to spend $40+ on transportation alone.

My buddies and I have been going to the same local bar/restaurant for several years now to catch the Lions game every Sunday and now, I can’t watch football at home as the endless commercials are so fucking annoying whereas at the bar, you don’t even notice them and they provide an opportunity to shoot the breeze with your friends.

97% of all sex I had was initiated in pubs with me and the partner somewhat drunk. Pubs are merely bordellos.
