I used to be all into environmentalism, anti littering etc. But as I've gotten older, frankly more jaded and blackpilled, I simply don't give a fuck about "sustainabikity", "conservation", etc. This society, culture, species and world isn't worth conserving. It's not worth sustaining. There's nothing of value here. And bringing it back to myself as just another animal on this hellscape of a planet, why the fuck do I have responsibility for this place? It's not mine, I didn't make it, it's not my responsibility. I think the opposite attitude comes from xstianity, where man is some sort of shepherd of the earth. But I'm an atheist, and I have no 'skin in the game' as it were - no kids, never will. So why do I care about the state of this world?

It's honestly so freeing to just chuck and dump my fucking trash out the car window. I never recycle, toss my rubbish in random peoples bins, and recently I was really pushing the boundaries of my animal nature and just threw a whole bunch of shit into the ocean from my car (empty lighters, bottle of empty oil, broken jumper leads, etc). I was just parked up the ocean and there was no bin, and I thought fuck it. Not my problem.

No other animal gives a fuck about the environment, why should I be constrained by man made bullshit rules into doing the caring? This world can go to fucking hell for all I care.

I pick up litter on my walks. Usually it's little fireball bottles from the local drifters but sometimes it's soft drink cups and such. The most interesting thing I've found by the side of the road was an unopened box of Pyrex tubbaware I took home started using after washing.

I don't really throw out much because I spend a lot of time cleaning garbage off my property, and it's kind of disturbing to find 20-40 year old plastic trash. But I also make it a point to try to produce less trash and burn/compost what I can. I wish there was a way to get rid of plastic, burning could be an option but it stinks, is toxic, and leaves an awful residue.

I won't shame you for trashing stuff though. You didn't invent this plastic crap and market it for cheap. I just imagine humanity will be extinct in 100,000 years and civilization will be extremely lucky to see another 1000.

The sustainability schtick is just for virtue signaling. Nobody actually cares about the environment, it's all social pressure. I have 8 worm bins where I compost junk mail, food waste and cardboard, but that's because worm farming is a hobby of mine. The whole "zero waste" movement doesn't really make sense because anything compostable is biodegradable and will decompose into nothingness inside a landfill after a decade.
