I like ketchup and I like mustard. I don't really prefer one over the other, they're different condiments and go on different things. I wouldn't have mustard on french fries, and I wouldn't have ketchup on a pretzel. But I still like ketchup on fries and mustard on pretzels.

I think most people are like this but you have a point OP, I've never heard anyone say they would only eat ketchup and mustard is for gays but I do hear the opposit sometimes. I think other examples are people who go over the top about their ethnic food being authentic, like the "you can't call that a carbonara, it's got cream in it" types or the "you know that's not real chinese food" types. mostly see this with italian food now that i think of it, they do the same thing with pizza
