Are companies really this cheap ? How much can a box cost? 20 cents?

>> No.16001073

The cost is insignificant, it's a marketing stunt.

The box is still there anon you absolute idiot, they're saving on printing and ink costs.

20 cents for something in the ballpark of a billion boxes a day is extremely significant.

>> No.16001126

>>16001102
I used to work for a box manufacturer and I guarantee you the price per unit is far less than that for such a large company. I would say its 1 or 2 cents per. The amount spent on printing is probably another 2 cents so really they aren't saving a lot. Given that their business has an incredibly small profit margin and the ever rising cost of goods I wouldn't be surprised if this message is legit though.

if the numbers are right they move 3 million pizzas a day, not accounting for sides in other containers and general shrink that's only 90k in savings at the 3~4 cents you says
really insignificant for a company that reported 400 million in net profit for 2019

it seems like a marketing stunt

That feels about right. Probably 45 cents in small quantities, but domino's buys millions of the things.

Of course it's a stunt; they spent money to get new printing plates for this, even if they did nominally save a bit by going from 2 or 3 color to single color printing.

You're watching a commercial on youtube at fullscreen, or maybe not even watching it but you're aware it's playing. All of the sudden, the screen goes from flashing colors to goinf completely blank and white, before putting an understated, tiny sentence in the middle of the screen.

Wtf, is your TV broken? Was the internet turned off? Did you accidentally change channels? Better go read the sentence and find out what happened

This plus at least three other strategies were employed in this little bit of marketing

It costs the same amount to print that box as it would to print a box with a ton of graphics on it. The box in the pic is entirely a jokey gimmick.
