the construction doesn't lend well to its own concept. bear with me. like, you don't want a homogenous mass of the components of a cali burrito, but at the same time separating them out into the characteristic layers means you can never really get the "optimal bite" unless you can unhinge your jaw like some kind of snake. past that, the fillings are different temperatures and consistencies that don't play well. cold lettuce and guac and pico immediately thrown onto hot meat rice and beans, then cheese that either doesn't melt or sour cream that breaks and sops through your food. IDK senpai i'll take the more authentic mexi burritos i get around me. one is just shitloads of meat of your choice with onions and cilantro, the other place puts refried beans and rice in too, but neither of them come with veg or cheese or too much stuff going on. just a simple burrito with red and green salsas to pour inside as you eat it.

yea ngl San Diego was incredible and I can see why people would want to live there. Best burrito I ever had in my life was a California Burrito in San Diego. Stayed in La Jolla, saw some seals, watched some people hang glide off of the bluffs on the beach. Did a little hiking.

Yea my friend lives in SImi and I visted him. His wife is asian and took us out to some Korean BBQ which was honestly pretty good. I was up in Valencia. Angeles National park was dope. Wished I had more time to spend there.

I miss authentic mexican food in Chicago. I moved to the sw lastbyear and food is so shit. Cant find a decent burrito anywhere, they put pico which ruins it, they dont put crema or cheese, when i ask they dont even carry mexican cheese only cheddar and jack. Wtf is this shit? The meat is shit, tacos, tortas all shit. Cant find a good chicago thin style pizza, italian beef or smash burger if my life depended on it.
