How do I make decent Shakshouka? Which is the best recipe?
I looked around online and saw like 50 different ones.

Also cumin, make sure you add cumin. It's key for shakshuka flavor.

It's impossible, because shakshouka isn't a good dish.

>okay heres what youre gonna do
Dice an onion. Big, Vidalia. Whole thing, onion is the base of this. With just enough olive oil begin to cook le onion until translucent. Add more minced garlic than you think you need, and mix. By now your kitchen should be filled with the smell. Add some salt and pepper if you want but do not forget your basil paste. Mix until its not noticeable. Add your can of crushed tomatoes. Stir, let simmer, basically just thicken it and reduce it a bit, which is why less oil is good. Let some time go by, add all your sterotype Italian seasonings, some chopped up anchovies, and perhaps some bacon. In fact i once started step 1 with bacon grease from the precooked bacon. However you can add some chopped up sausage or whatever meat really. This is the point i throw in plenty of spimach leaves. Once everything is cooked to where it needs to be, create your holes and crack eggs into them. I like 6 personally. Move the tomato on top of some egg white to help cook and mix the layers. Cover, let yolks cook to the point of being jelly like, and thats it. Serve with toast

don't fall for the meme of mixing bell peppers and sweet peppers in with the hot peppers, this is good to save money but you'll get something a lot more tasty if you use scotch bonnets and red Egyptian chillies instead

if i have feta i need to use up, i mix it into the tomato and pepper mix before adding the eggs. but generally i avoid it because it changes the flavor completely. not in a bad way, it's still very tasty, but it doesn't feel like shakshuka anymore

>fry onion
>add bell pepper and fry more
>for the last 30 seconds of frying add cumin, paprika, and fresh garlic
>dump tin of chopped tomatoes in it
>tomato paste
>add meat if you want, bacon, sausage, ham, whatever
>drop eggs in and cover, or just poach eggs separately then add
>serve with garlic bread

it's really easy. you can add whatever you want. the base is just onions and peppers, garlic, cumin and paprika.

don't make the jewish or israel shakshouka i think it is afghan recipe or something not those dirty stupid hobos recipes.... u need cumin and herbs and salt, with eggs and it helps to put a lit on top of it or something if you want it slightly less cooked eggs.......... dont add fresh things such as pic and also never put onions or garlic or the powders of it.

man this stuff sounds really good but i cant eat too much protein because it makes my poop too messy for my daddy. I am to keep a clean boi pussy for my daddy at all times i am only alloted one hour a day where there may be feces in my rectum (this is known as my sissy period). i usually snack on carrots and hummus with a capris sun while i watch my daily sissy hypno. ill make this for my daddy though, thanks for the motivation.

microwave some eggs, then douse em in ketchup or maybe sriracha if you're feeling fancy. cover with shredded cheese and microwave a bit more to melt. you dont need to add the vegetables on top, that's just pretentious, and anyone who's not a reddit tier soytard knows that more complicated food!=better food. this is the best, most elegant shakshuka ive ever had.

Im from Morocco. You retards need to look at the image. There are clearly onions in there. This is litteraly poor man's food. If the recipe doesnt have onions. It means they prefer to use little onions they had on other dishes.

To answer your question. North african cuisine like most other med cuisine always starts with
>Fat(oil usually)
>Garlic
>Onion
>Salt
Anyone telling you it's different. Will prolly get beat up by their mom and grandma's. Embarassing...

i make a culturally-appropriating-your-dish version
oil, add bell pepper, onion, chili
curry powder, salt, pepper
dollop of ginger/garlic paste
1 can ro-tel or similar diced tomato and chili
1 can tomato sauce
poach eggs in it (bit more curry on top)
cilantro to garnish
