Interesting if you could pull it off. I would think it would make the pizza too sloppy

I've made watermelon curry before and it holds together pretty well when you cook it, so I don't think it would be worse than tomatoes or pineapple if I cube and drain it. I might try grilling it first.

Botanically, anything with seeds is a fruit.

Plenty of fruits that go well with bread and cheese work well on a pizza. Helps too if they're fruits that don't go to shit when cooked. Figs, pears, apple, melon come to mind as far as stuff I've had on pizza that was good. Most of those didn't use tomato & mozzarella though. Lot more options if you use different sauce & cheese.

Ice-cream pizza is a legit dish and counts as pizza. Fight me.

Tomatillas are good. Peppers are good. Apple is good. Persimmon or peach might be worth trying with a white sauce. Figs go with bacon and cheese so that would be another worth using with a white sauce.

Fruit should not go on pizza at all because it already has tomatoes on it
Pizza is a savory dish, but has a lot of sweetness because of the tomato sauce
Any more sweet ingredients added on top of that fundamentally change the flavor profile from savory to cloyingly sweet
Only diabetics in training like fruit added to pizza
I don't even like adding ham because it's so sweet compared to other cured meats

>> No.15967184

Probably bananas. Mush them down to a paste-y consistency and they could be cooked in with the sauce to make it have a hearty, sweet flavor.

I'm talking any pizza sauce with tomatoes in it
The tomato itself, the base of the sauce, is very sweet
We tend to taste the acid in it first and ignore the sweetness but even a little extra sweetness added to a tomato base will quickly begin to taste like you dumped sugar on it

Peaches, prunes, citrus fruits in small amounts w/o any pith. Maybe some raw melon with like prosciutto. You'll always want something savoury to balance out the sweetness, e.g. salted meats and blue cheese.
